Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • 9x13-inch Baking Pan

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 box Cake Mix (any flavor) Use your favorite boxed mix.
  • 1 stick Butter Melted and slightly cooled.
  • 2 large Eggs Room temperature if possible.
  • 1 cup Chopped Nuts (Pecans or Walnuts) Toasted lightly for extra flavor (optional).
  • 1 package Cream Cheese 8 oz, softened to room temperature.
  • 1 box Powdered Sugar 16 oz, sifted if lumpy for best texture.
  • 1 large Egg Added to the cream cheese mixture.

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by greasing it lightly or lining with parchment.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, melted butter, and 2 eggs until well blended. Stir until there are no dry pockets; the batter will be thick.
  • Fold in the chopped nuts and mix until evenly distributed.
  • In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and the additional egg, mixing until fully incorporated and silky.
  • Grease a baking pan and pour half of the cake batter into it. Spread it carefully to create an even base layer.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the batter layer.
  • Pour the remaining batter over the cream cheese layer. Dollop and gently spread to cover the filling.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow to cool before serving. Chill briefly if you prefer a firmer slice.
