Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Meats

  • 4 oz Salami, thinly sliced and chopped
  • 4 oz Prosciutto, thinly sliced and chopped
  • 4 oz Capicola, thinly sliced and chopped

Cheese

  • 4 oz Provolone Cheese, sliced and chopped

Vegetables

  • 1 cup Lettuce, chopped (romaine or iceberg recommended)
  • 1 medium Tomato, chopped (seeds removed if preferred)
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped (red or sweet onion, thinly sliced then chopped)

Dressing

  • 2 tbsp Italian Dressing (for drizzling)

Bread

  • 2 pieces Italian Sub Rolls, halved lengthwise (room temperature)

Instructions

  • Begin by chopping the salami, prosciutto, and capicola into small, bite-size pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl. Aim for uniform pieces so the flavors combine evenly.
  • Add the chopped provolone cheese, chopped lettuce, chopped tomato, and chopped onion to the same bowl. Toss gently to distribute the ingredients.
  • Drizzle the Italian dressing evenly over the mixture and toss everything together until well combined and the dressing lightly coats the ingredients.
  • Slice the Italian sub rolls in half horizontally and, if desired, toast lightly for a crisp exterior. Fill each roll with the chopped mixture, packing it gently.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious chopped Italian sandwich!

Notes

Store the chopped mixture in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Keep rolls separate to avoid sogginess.
